Equipment for Learn to Skate
Skaters are required to provide their own:
- HECC approved hockey helmet and face cage
- Elbow pads
- Shin guards
- Mittens, gloves or hockey gloves to protect hands
TYHA provides each Learn To Skate skater with a practice jersey and USA Hockey membership.
Equipment for Hockey Development
Full hockey equipment is required. See list below.

Equipment for Mosquito through Midgets
Skaters are required to provide their own: Helmets, Gloves and Pants should be Black.
- (Black) HECC approved hockey helmet and face cage
- Shoulder pads
- Elbow pads
- (Black) Hockey gloves
- Athletic cup
- (Black) Hockey pants with either belt or suspenders
- Shin guards & straps
- Hockey socks and sock garter
Optional Equipment for all levels:
- Neck guard
Triboro does not require neck guards but many players choose to wear this additional piece of safety equipment.
- Skate guards
Also not required but they will protect your blades, reduce the amount of needed sharpening and keep fingers safer in the locker room.
- Hockey bag
You have to get it all there somehow!
- Skate rag
Choose an absorbent cloth to wipe your blades after each time on the ice.
- Skate hook
Helpful in tying skates especially for those learning to tie their own!
- Practice jerseys
Pick your favorite team and be sure to wash it once in a while!
- Blade covers
Elasticized cloth covers that protect your blades while in your bag.
Triboro provides all teams with game jerseys which are to be returned to Triboro at the end of the season.
In order to foster potential interest in goal tending without the expense, Triboro has full goalie equipment available for use for all Mite and Mosquito teams. From Squirt level upward, goalies must provide their own equipment.
